Welcome back Hoops Family!!! We are already into the New Year and the game intensity has begun to pick up on the floor as the trade deadline is fast approaching teams are looking to bolster their rosters and gear up for a playoff run. This week we will take a look at some games that are sure to draw a lot of attention and a few surprises as well.
Nuggets Vs. Mavericks
This western conference battle brings two of not only the top international players in the league but two of the best players in all of the league. As Nikola Jokić and Luka Dončić both look to find the winner’s circle on Wednesday Night. The Joker is coming off a highly impressive 47 point game in his last contest as it seems he is finding his stride now at the midway point of the season. Luka has firmly cemented himself in the MVP conversation with his stellar play so far in his sophomore season as he is currently leading the Mavs back into the playoff picture. This should, and I feel will be a highly competitive contest between two high-level playoff bound teams who still could potentially meet in the first round of the playoffs so that makes this contest that much more important.
Hornets Vs. Suns
An under the radar match up here as both teams currently are on the outside looking in for the playoff picture in their respective conferences. Both clubs are lead by dynamic guard play being the headline as Devin Booker of the Suns and second year wonder Devonte’ Graham do battle on the floor. I will watch closely as the season goes on how the former number one pick Deandre Ayton will perform over the course of the remainder of the season after he missed thirty games due to suspension and injury.
