Antonio Brown Addresses Media for First Time as Patriot

The New England Patriots made wide receiver Antonio Brown available to the media for the first time since being signed.

Though he scored a touchdown in his first appearance, Brown said he is excited to be a student of the game and take in more from head coach Bill Belichick.

“I’m super grateful to be here to play for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady,” Brown said. “I’ve got a lot of offense to learn and catch up but I’m excited and grateful to be here and a part of these guys.”

When asked about working with quarterback Tom Brady, Brown said he was grateful to be there to learn from him.

“It’s been a tremendous honor,” Brown said. “He’s been here a long time, a lot of details, a lot of work ethic, a great guy to have around who inspires everyone here.”

Brown could not avoid questions about his personal life. When asked about adjusting to the offense as well as the off-field issues, he did everything he could to dodge and just talk about football.

“It’s football and I’m grateful to play football,” Brown said. “Every time you walk in the doors here, you be your best for the team. So every time I walk in here I just want to make sure I’m preparing to give these guys my best.”

The last question was whether or not he had heard from the league about his eligibility for the future. Brown dodged.

“I appreciate the question [but] I’m just here to focus on ball,” Brown said. “[I] look forward to get out into the home stadium and being with the team.”
