All Elite Wrestling’s Brodie Lee Has Passed Away Unexpectedly

All Elite Wrestling's Brodie Lee passes away

Jonathan Huber, a professional wrestler who recently performed for All Elite Wrestling under the name Brodie Lee has died unexpectedly. The cause of death remains unclear, although some sources indicate a non-Covid-19 lung problem. All Elite Wrestling released a statement announcing Huber’s death. Huber was 41 years of age.

Huber signed with All Elite Wrestling earlier this year. He previously worked for World Wrestling Entertainment under the name “Luke Harper” from 2012 to 2019. In WWE, Huber was a two-time Tag Team Champion, as well as a one-time Intercontinental Champion. For most of his WWE tenure, Huber was part of the Wyatt Family stable with a brief run as a singles wrestler. In his final years with WWE, he was part of a tag team known as The Bludgeon Brothers. Prior to working for WWE, Huber worked on the independent circuit under the name Brodie Lee.

A Champion

Huber made his debut for AEW in March, as the leader of a faction known as The Dark Order. He would soon challenge for the AEW Championship at the Double or Nothing event in May, albeit unsuccessfully. Soon after, he would win the TNT Championship in late August. In October, he would drop the belt and take time off to recover from an unknown injury. He would not be seen on AEW’s programming since the night he dropped the belt.

Often considered as a very underrated performer, Huber was well-respected by his peers. Aside from being respected in the professional wrestling industry, the admiration for him from the worldwide wrestling fanbase is overwhelming.

Unfortunately, Huber is one of at least ten professional wrestlers who passed away this year. Earlier this month, former professional wrestler and longtime WWE creative consultant and producer Pat Patterson passed away from cancer at the age of 79.
