Corrigan’s Gambling Corner: Football Week 3

Bo Nix

It’s that time of the week again. Its time to arise from our beds and then derise (is that a word?) onto our couches for 48 straight hours to watch some football. To again ask, what better than watching football? Making some money on football.

2020 Record: 12-7

Florida State vs Miami (-11.5)

I am in love with Miami this season. They are a serious candidate to make the college football playoffs this season. D’Eriq King has been more than advertised for Miami. With a huge game against Louisville last week, he has emerged onto the Heisman trophy scene. Many people thought that the defense would carry Miami this season, and they still can, but this offense is better than expected. Give me Miami, and give me them BIG.

Mississippi State (+17) vs LSU & Over 56.5

LSU is still going to be a very good team this season, but losing 14 players to the draft and then losing Ja’Marr Chase due to an opt-out, leaves some big question marks for this team. Mississippi State on the other hand will be playing their first game under Mike Leach with a pretty solid roster. LSU will win this game outright, but Mississippi State will score enough points to make this a close game up until the end. With Leach coaching, you gotta think over is the play and it is.

Kentucky vs Auburn (-7)

I am a big believer in Bo Nix. He had a very up and down true freshman season but was able to pick up some big wins against Oregon and Alabama. I also have my eyes on Kentucky this season, but Auburn is more than a touchdown better than Kentucky. Hopefully, this isn’t one of those world-famous, random bad Auburn years.

Rams vs Bills (-1.5)

Its time for everyone to come to terms with the fact that Josh Allen is very good. I still think that this is a big year for the Rams, but the Bills are really special. If there were fans in the stadium, this would be a no-brainer. But the Bills will keep this train rolling and beat up a sometimes shaky Rams team.

Titans (-2.5) vs Vikings

The Vikings are not very good. Yes, they got off to a slow start last season, but Kevin Stefanski really was the X-factor for this team last year. They ran the perfect offense for Kirk Cousins and now we don’t know what the identity of this team is. There is no way that they will be able to stop Derrick Henry this week. The Titans are going to win big.

Panthers vs Chargers (-6) & Over 43.5

Yes, we know that the Chargers are, for whatever reason, sticking with Tyrod Taylor but it’s not happening this week. Justin Herbert showed last week against the Chiefs that he is the real deal. The offense was moving so much better with their rookie leading the charge. The Panthers, on the other hand, are without Christian McCaffrey for a couple of weeks. It other words, they are without their only true offensive weapon for a few weeks. In terms of the point total, there is just one thing to say… the turf in L.A. is looking very fast.

Gates Top NFL Team From Week 11 (2024)

Week 11 in the NFL brought more chaos, with at least five games on Sunday being decided by a single score. Notably, the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts won their games by just one point. As a result of their performance, the Buffalo Bills have earned the title of our NFL Team of the Week for the second time this season, having previously received this honor in Week 8.
