Jalen Ramsey and the Los Angeles Rams agreed to a contract extension on Wednesday.
The deal is for five years and is worth $105 million with $71.2 million in guarantees, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The LA Rams are making Jalen Ramsey the highest paid defensive back in NFL history and by a wide margin. The extension is for $105M over 5 years ($21M per year) & has $71.2M in guarantees at signing. This brings the DB market into a new stratosphere. 💰 💰💰

It’s the biggest contract ever for a cornerback. Ramsey is the first defensive back ever to sign a deal worth over $100 million and his guarantee is the biggest guarantee to a defensive back, according to Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.
“I’m trying to do my job as a football player. I’m trying to be a leader on the team,” Ramsey said. “If it comes, it comes. It’s going to be a surprise to me, like it’s going to be a surprise to you all.”
Last year the Rams acquired Ramsey in a trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars. In nine games with the Rams, he had one interception, four pass deflections, and a forced fumble. Ramsey has 10 interceptions, returning one for a touchdown, 49 pass deflections, and three forced fumbles in his career.
Ramsey is the fourth Rams player since 2018 to sign a record-breaking extension, joining Aaron Donald, Jared Goff, and Todd Gurley, who was cut in March.
