In Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, the Dallas Stars were able to silence the Vegas offense. In Game 2, Las Vegas wrote a different script as they evened series at 1-1. Heading into the series Vegas had outshot the Vancouver Canucks 127- 54 in the second round’s final three games. After a scoreless first period, the Knights found their scoring touch in a flurry.
Paul Statsny began the scoring as Vegas took total control in the second period. The veteran’s goal came as a sigh of relief as it was the first goal by a Vegas Skater with an opposing goalie in net in 276:24 minutes of play. William Karlsson and Tomas Nosek followed suit as the Vegas Knights scored three goals in less than ten minutes. They were the goals that they were accustomed to scoring and proved to be all that Vegas would need.
Additionally, the Knights spread out the scoring as eight different skaters recorded at least one point. It was there best output in over a week as they excelled in all aspects of the game. While the Knights looked much improved, they also received stellar goaltending as they have throughout the playoffs.
After sitting out Game 1 in favor of Marc-Andre Fleury, Robin Lehner returned and stimmed the Dallas offense. Lehner faced 24 stopped all 24 shots he faced and recorded his fourth shutout of the playoffs. The former second-round pick has been stellar in the playoffs and now has a 1.84 GAA in 13 games. For the Pacific Division champions, Game 2 represented everything that has gotten Vegas this far.

In Game 3 the Knights will need their offensive resurgence to continue. They also received a boost with the return of Ryan Reaves who brings a unique physical edge. The Stars however will be looking to avenge Game 2 and retake the series lead.
Furthermore, the Knights will need their forwards as their best as the Stars have only lost back to back games once this postseason.
