WWE Broadcast Tapings Moved to Amway Center

It’s been a long five months, but WWE is moving the location of its broadcasts.

Since early March, the WWE Performance Center has been host to Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and pay-per-view events. Week in and week out, superstars have competed in the very same arena in which they likely made their first practices and training events.

Beginning this Friday, the Amway Center, also located in Orlando, Fla., will be the new venue.

The updated venue will give superstars a new vigor in the ring as they are out of the same arena in which they have wrestled for months since the inception of the pandemic.

WWE will start with SmackDown on FOX this Friday and announced SummerSlam will also take place in the Amway Center. Hopes are up for continued broadcasts and matches from the new venue, which is rumored to be called “WWE ThunderDome.”

The fresh scenery will also have an impact on the fan experience. Change is good when necessary, and WWE’s move to the Amway Center was necessary. Matches like the Boneyard Match and the Wyatt Swamp Fight have generated positive responses from fans, so contests away from the Performance Center will be a welcomed change.

The ball, now, is in WWE’s hands. It would be in the company’s best interest to take advantage of all the change it has introduced of late, particularly with Raw Underground.

Until fans are able to attend events live and safely again, WWE’s move to the Amway Center will be a welcome one.
