Fluidity 9/10 Very fluid and he has great forward burst. Moves quickly with good twitches and has good contestability. Very natural with his movements and great ability to plant and drive.
Speed/Acceleration 10/10 He can fly to the football and has a very solid closing speed. You may think a ball carrier is gone but he will run him down to get a chase-down tackle. When a safety blitz is on, he can shoot the gap and get to the quarterback.
Man Coverage Ability 7.5/10 He plays good press in the red zone but is slightly worse here than in zone, as he is better at hunting the ball. With his frame, he could match up with a bigger receiver or tight end.
Zone Coverage Ability  9/10 Very capable of causing several turnovers in zone and does well of tracking the ball on deep throws. Always hunts the football and can bust RPOs wide open.
Tackling 6/10 He certainly has his moments and makes some really good tackles using his range and length. He is often hesitant at throwing himself into a tackle and will get thrown backward.
Ball Skills 10/10 Has the perfect balance of length, physicality, and hand-eye coordination to shine. Solid ability to undercut underthrows/ducks and get inside with his quickness. Has good hands to break up passes.
Run Support  7.5/10 Tackling issues hurt him, but he can help burst through the seams and bust open plays. Rundown ability is very solid and will always look to be disruptive.
Competitive Toughness 8.5/10 Good effort, strong quickness, and has solid functional strength in man coverage. Plus the ability to work at the catch point to break up passes and is willing to get physical. Again though, his one consistent red flag is his shaky tackling abilities
Awareness 9/10 Is always reading the football and knows what spots to go and cuts to use. Reads the eyes of quarterback well and breaks open RPOs. Will rarely get beat off the LOS.
Versatility 10/10 Great blitz ability playing up in the box, he can play anywhere that is asked of him. He can play man, deep zone, blitz off the edge, and be a second or third level run defender. Quickness and length benefit him to play several roles.
Overview 86.5/100 Grant Delpit will be an impact versatile safety from day one for any NFL team. He will need to improve his tackling skills but he is physical enough to make big hits. His rare blend of skills makes him an every-down defender and has the flexibility, IQ, and range to play several roles on defense.
