Eagles Sign Will Parks

The Eagles made a pair of moves on Saturday, one of them being signing former Denver Broncos safety Will Parks to a one-year deal. This deal helps them work towards replacing former defensive captain Malcolm Jenkins, who they let walk in free agency.

Per Mike Kaye, the deal is for $1.6 million with $1 million guaranteed and a $375K signing bonus. As Adam Schefter said in the above tweet, Parks turned down better deals to return to his hometown of Philadelphia.

The signing further improves the Eagles’ secondary that just added Darius Slay to their cornerback room on Thursday. With the Eagles stating Jalen Mills will be moved to safety and Rodney McLeod being re-signed, Parks will probably be in place to be the third safety. The 25-year can also play cornerback, which is always a plus for Howie Roseman and the Eagles to have versatility.

In his four years in Denver, Parks missed just two games, both last season, and had at least one interception in each year of his career. He has 149 combined tackles in his career, with the most in a season being 51 in 2017.
