Best NBA Bets for Sunday, January 12th

Joshua Woolsey | January 12th, 2020

Since the New Year, I’m 10-5 on my NBA Bets. My goal is to help you be just as successful. Sunday is a day that will likely be overshadowed by the NFL Playoffs, but there will still be some great NBA action today.

Utah Jazz (-9) vs. Washington Wizards

Over/Under: 223

No NBA team has been hotter than the Utah Jazz, winners of nine out of their last ten. Their offensive efficiency has been incredible, to go along with their ability to play stifling defense.

On the other side, the Wizards have been mostly a mixed bag winning five out of their last ten. Matters get worse for them without their best player, Bradley Beal is reported as questionable to play with a sore right leg. The Wizards are one of the worst teams on defense, so look for the Jazz to make them pay. I see the Jazz winning in blowout fashion, and limiting the banged-up Wizards’ points.

My pick: Jazz -9, Under 223

Miami Heat (-8) vs. New York Knicks

Over/Under 219

The Heat is coming off a heartbreaking road loss to the Brooklyn Nets, they were sloppy down the stretch, and Brooklyn made them pay. Look for the Heat, winners of seven of their last ten, to bounce back against a struggling Knicks team that has only won three of its last ten. The Knicks are reeling and their best player lately has been Taj Gibson, who has shown grit and toughness the rest of the team could learn from. Look for a high-scoring shootout with the Heat pulling away late.

My Picks: Heat -9/ Over 219

Golden State Warriors vs. Memphis Grizzlies (-6.5)

Over/Under 224

The Warriors have done a pretty good job of hanging around some tough teams the last few games, losing to the Clippers and Bucks by a combined 18 points. The line in this one is somewhat of a head-scratcher due to the Grizzlies’ hot performance in recent weeks. They were able to extinguish a red hot Spurs team on Friday night in dominant fashion 134-121. The Griz are winners of seven of their last ten and have the same record ATS. An important number for the Warriors is three, they have only won three out of 21 on the road, and three out of their last ten overall.

My pick: Memphis -6.5/ Under 224
