NFL DFS: Bills vs Texans Showdown Slate

Brandon Braasch | January 4th, 2020

The NFL playoffs are officially here. What better way to get things started than a showdown slate. The AFC South division champions, Houston Texans, host the Buffalo Bills. Both teams were able to rest players last week because they were locked into there playoff seeding. With both teams coming in fresh, here are my top players and game predictions for this playoff matchup.

FanDuel MVP & Draftkings Captain

Josh Allen (18,000 DK Captain, 12,000 DK, and 15,000 FD)

Allen’s running ability paired up with his arm strength is going to be the difference in this game. The Texan’s defense has struggled all year. They allow 267.2 passing yards per game and a total of 33 passing touchdowns on the year. Allen should be able to have success against the Texans secondary and if he doesn’t then he will make up for it with his legs.

Flex Players

Devin Singletary (9,600 DK and 11,500 FD)

Singletary has been the lead back for the Bills since week eight. His last four games, even against tough run defenses, he still put up good numbers. He ran for 80+ yards in two of those games and his worst game was against the New England Patriots who have one of the best defenses in the league. Even though the Texans have J.J. Watt returning from injury, their defense still isn’t nearly as good. Look for Singletary to get it going against a struggling Texans rush defense.

Kenny Stills (6,600 DK and 10,000 FD)

Even though Tre’Davious White said he wasn’t going to shadow DeAndre Hopkins, I expect him to cover him most of the game. White has not allowed an opposing receiver to score a touchdown all year. That will force Stills to be a focal point on offense, especially with Will Fuller expected to be out. Stills should be Deshaun Watson’s go-to target especially if Hopkins does struggle against White.

John Brown (9,200 DK and 12,500 FD)

Brown has been the playmaker for Allen all year. Brown has six touchdowns this year and will be a huge factor in this game. The Texans defense has allowed 12 plays over 40+ yards this year. Brown has three plays this year over 40 yards and five plays over 34 yards. Look for Brown to make some big game-changing plays in this game.

Game Predictions

This game is going to be all about whether or not the Texans offense can score on the Bills defense. If the Bills can get pressure on Watson and contain his running ability they will win this game. The Bills offense should be able to score and I expect them to play well. Bills win this playoff matchup 27-17 with a big game from the Bills young rising stars Allen and Singletary.

Player Predictions

Allen: 268 passing yards, 47 rushing yards, and two touchdowns.

Singletary: 107 total yards and one touchdown.

Stills: Seven receptions, 78 yards, and one touchdown.

Brown: Six receptions, 96 yards, and one touchdown.
