Monday Night Football Week 16 DFS

Brandon Braasch  | December 23rd, 2019

With the Los Angeles Rams losing on Saturday night, the Minnesota Vikings are locked into the playoffs. However, they could still win and move into the 1st wild card spot or even win the NFC North with some help. The Green Bay Packers are still alive for a first-round bye. Here are my top players and game predictions for tonight’s final Monday Night Football game.

FanDuel MVP and DraftKings Captain

Stefon Diggs (14,400 DK Captain, 9,600 DK, and 12,500 FD)

Diggs topped 1,000 receiving yards on the year last week. After a slow start, he has quietly put together a pretty good season. Diggs gets a matchup that he has been able to exploit in his career. He has scored a touchdown in his last six games vs the Packers. Look for him to continue that streak and snag another touchdown or two.

Flex Players

Kirk Cousins (10,200 DK and 15,000 FD)

This is a big game for Cousins. He is 0-8 on Monday Night Football. Tonight is the night he finally wins on Monday Night Football. The Vikings are missing their top two running backs, and I expect Cousins to step up and have a big game in the passing attack. Outside of the running backs his receiving weapons are all full strength. Cousins has also played very well against the Packers in his career. In four games against them, he has thrown 11 touchdowns and averages 343 passing yards per game. Look for Cousins to get this offense rolling as they head into the playoffs.

Davante Adams (11,400 DK and 14,500 FD)

The Packers are 11-3 but don’t let their record fool you. They have struggled offensively and they really need Adams to step it up and be their go-to receiver. He has four touchdowns in his last four games but only one game with over 100 receiving yards. He gets plenty of targets though seeing at least 10 in six of his last seven games.

Ameer Abdullah (2,200 DK and 6,000 FD)

Abdullah was able to get five carries last week. At his salary, he saves you plenty of money to get any stars you would like. He should be the change of pace back and if Mike Boone struggles then there’s no reason why Abdullah wouldn’t take more snaps. Look for Abdullah to see some carries and targets and turn those into some positive yards.

Player to Avoid

Mike Boone (9,000 DK and 12,000 FD)

Boone has way too much hype coming into this game. I know he had two touchdowns last week but that’s not likely to happen again this week. The Packers don’t have a great run defense but they have only allowed three running backs to run for over 100 yards. That was Dalvin Cook, Christian McCaffrey, and Josh Jacobs. Those guys are great, Boone is an undrafted free agent. The Vikings are going to put this game on Cousin’s shoulders and Boone is gonna bust.

Game Predictions

The Vikings are coming off a big win against the Los Angeles Chargers. Their defense was able to make some big plays and offense played well enough to win big. The Vikings will continue playing good defense and slow Aaron Rodgers down. Their offense led by Cousins will make some big plays leading them to a 28-17 victory.

Player Predictions

Diggs: 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Cousins: 287 passing yards and three touchdowns.

Adams: 117 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Abdullah: 68 total yards and one touchdown.

Boone: 48 rushing yards.
