Two-Start Pitchers: Week 18 (8/05 – 8/11)

Matt Bishop | August 5, 2019

STREAMER OF THE WEEK

Daniel Norris, SP DET (CHW, KC)

(24% CBS, 2% ESPN, 5% Yahoo)

It’s getting to that time of the year where we are running out of decent streaming pitchers to talk about and upside is virtually non-existent on the waiver wire. But while Daniel Norris’ 4.67 ERA 1.40 WHIP combo on the year isn’t much to write home about, he has been very solid in his last 3 outings:

LAST 3 STARTS:

1.76 ERA 1.11 WHIP 9.4 K/9 2.3 BB/9

2.76 FIP 3.45 xFIP 20.0% K-BB%

Norris has a 15.1% swinging strike rate on his slider this season and opposing batters are hitting .202 against it.  His changeup has also been decent, carrying a 18.9% swinging strike rate and opposing batters are hitting .255 against it.

I am not saying that Norris has much upside, but does have a decent matchup this week at home against the White Sox and at home against the Royals.  You could do much worse this week.
