Welcome to the first edition of The Scorecrow’s Best Bets. Each week, we will look at the current line for every game and which ones seem like guaranteed winners. Our blog will include stats, history, and sometimes straight up gut feelings. Let’s start with some TNF.
Green Bay @ Seattle:
The NFL has done a great job this year not giving the fans the worst game possible on Thursday night. Although recent games have been blowouts, this Thursday night is all but an elimination game for the NFC Wild Card race. Both teams fighting for their playoff lives is sure to give us a TNF spectacle.
Seattle is currently sitting at -2.5 and the money line is at -145. Seattle is sitting at 5-3-1 against the spread while Green Bay is sitting at 4-5. To go along with Green Bay having a losing record against the spread, the home team is 8-2 this year on Thursday night football, with the only two home teams losing being the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants. I would be betting the Seattle Money Line all night long, and I think they win this game by a field goal and cover.
