Chargers Select Quarterback Justin Herbert at No. 6

The Los Angeles Chargers lost Phillip Rivers to the Colts earlier this offseason and have already replaced him with a potential new franchise quarterback.

They have selected Oregon Ducks quarterback Justin Herbert with the sixth overall pick of the NFL Draft.

Herbert is a senior quarterback for the Ducks.  He is impressive in size 6-foot-6 and 237 pounds.  He also did not have a surplus of talent around him at Oregon, so his resume should be viewed with that in mind.

Herbert equaled the program bowl game record with three rushing touchdowns in the Rose Bowl victory.  He also started all 14 games and led Oregon to its third Pac-12 Championship Game win.

Also, he finished his career with 30 consecutive starts, ranked second in the Pac-12 and 11th nationally with 32 TD passes, is the second player in Oregon history with 3,000 yards passing in back-to-back seasons, ranked 19th nationally with 3,471 passing yards

The Chargers now get to plug this intuiting quarterback into an offense that includes Keenan Allen, Mike Willaims, Austin Eckler, and many others.
