Report: Buccaneers Acquire Rob Gronkowski from Patriots

The New England Patriots have completed a trade to send formerly-retired star tight end Rob Gronkowski to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This comes just minutes after some rumors swirled suggesting that Gronkowski informed the Patriots that he wanted to return to the NFL. He also informed them that he was interested in playing with Tom Brady in Tampa Bay.

A few minutes later, the deal was finalized and a physical was pending. The Patriots will receive a fourth-round pick form the Buccaneers in exchange for Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick.

Gronkowski, 30, retired in March 2019 and was an NFL analyst for FOX Sports, an occasional wrestler for WWE, and the reigning champion of WWE 24/7.

This now puts Tom Brady back with his favorite target in a dangerous offense for the Bruce Arians-led Bucs. The offense now features Tom Brady, Ronald Jones, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski, O.J. Howard and Cameron Brate. They have a decent offensive line and still hold the No. 14 pick.
