Analyzing Jadeveon Clowney Sweepstakes Following Asking Price Reduction

Ever since NFL free agency started a few weeks ago, one of the hottest names on the market has been Jadaveon Clowney, the former No. 1 overall pick of the Houston Texans who spent last season with the Seattle Seahawks.

The three-time Pro Bowler has drawn interest from several teams including the Jets, Titans, Browns, and Seahawks.

The Seahawks have recently been reported to be out on Clowney for reasons that include contract pricing, a possible rift between them, and the fact that he may not have been happy with the format of Pete Carrol’s defense.

The Jets have been in constant contact with Clowney’s representatives, according to general manager Joe Douglas.

There have not been as many rumors coming out of Cleveland other than that they have checked in on the star defensive end.

The Titans appear to be the frontrunner; they have also been in constant contact with his agents.

With that intellect, it is pretty evident that Clowney’s destinations are down to the Tennessee Titans and the New York Jets.

Yesterday, Diana Russini of ESPN reported that the price has been lowered. Originally, the Titans appeared to be in the lead in the Clowney sweepstakes, but now that the price is lower, other teams will likely jump in.
