Report: Jets Agree to Deal with Explosive Wide Receiver

Joe Douglas has struck yet again.

The Jets lost Robby Anderson to the Carolina Panthers at 3:38 p.m. on Tuesday afternoon.

They signed Breshad Perriman at 7:11 p.m. on Tuesday evening, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Anderson appealed to Carolina because his head coach from college, Matt Rhule, is the rookie head coach for the Panthers.  He signed a two-year, $20 million deal.  Anderson and Perriman are both 26 years old.

Anderson was Sam Darnold‘s No. 1 receiver in 2019.

Last season, Perriman had 36 catches, 645 yards, and six touchdowns in 14 games while appearing in 56 percent of snaps for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In comparison, Anderson had 52 catches, 779 yards, and five touchdowns in 16 games while playing 91 percent of snaps for the Jets.

The Jets have made a very good investment with the one-year, $8 million deal that they handed out to the explosive speedster.
