Report: Saints Reuniting With Safety Malcolm Jenkins

After the Eagles made the difficult decision to cut fan favorite safety Malcolm Jenkins, it appears that the 32-year-old has found a familiar landing spot.

The New Orleans Saints have reportedly reunited with the former first-round pick from 2009. The New Jersey native played for the Saints from 2009-2013, winning a Super Bowl as a rookie in 2009-2010, and being selected to the Second-Team All-Pro in 2010.

During his first rodeo with New Orleans, he played in 71 out of 80 possible games. He forced six fumbles, six interceptions, and had two pick-sixes in his first merry-go-round.

In his last six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, he won the Super Bowl for the second time in his career in 2018, made the Pro-Bowl three times in 2015, 2017, and 2018, and didn’t miss a single game in those six years.

He was a fan favorite and an integral piece of the Eagles the last half-decade.

Last season, Jenkins forced four fumbles, had 63 solo tackles and 81 assisted tackles while playing all 16 games. He will bring much more durability to New Orleans this time around and should help push them even deeper into the playoffs, especially with his veteran leadership.
