Report: Veteran Linebacker Announces Reunion With Former Coach

After Thomas Davis was released by the Los Angeles Chargers earlier this week, many thought it was comfortable to assume that the three-time Pro Bowl linebacker would be riding off into the sunset before the 2020-21 NFL season began.

However, according to a post made on Davis’ Instagram page, it appears he may be headed for one last swan song under the coach he played for throughout most of his illustrious career.

Davis made it clear that the Washington Redskins would be signing him, and that he would be reunited with head coach Ron Rivera after eight years together in Carolina.

Davis, who turns 37 this week, made it known with the Chargers last season that he still has plenty left in the tank when he amassed 112 tackles, leading all players on the Los Angeles defense.

Davis will provide a much-needed boost to a Washington defensive unit that finished 27th in the league last season in total yards allowed.
