Report: Dolphins Signing Kyle Van Noy

The Miami Dolphins have made yet another free agency splash by signing defensive end Kyle Van Noy.

Van Noy will receive a four-year, $51 million deal, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Van Noy has spent the last three-and-a-half seasons with the New England Patriots and is coming off of his best career year where he tallied 60 quarterback pressures and eight sacks, per Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

The six-year veteran has racked up 23 sacks over his last three years as a starter in New England, but he flourished when used primarily as a pass-rusher with little coverage responsibility in 2019.

Van Noy was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round (40th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft.

Dolphins head coach Brian Flores served as Van Noy’s coach during his stint as the Patriots’ linebackers coach from 2016 to 2018.

Van Noy marks the fourth major signing by the Dolphins on the first day of free agency. Earlier today, the team added defensive end Shaq Lawson, offensive tackle Ereck Flowers, and cornerback Byron Jones.
