Report: Miami Dolphins Pursuing Melvin Gordon

According to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN, the Miami Dolphins will be attempting a pursuit at former Chargers All-Pro running back Melvin Gordon.

Gordon held out the beginning of last year in an attempt to receive a new and larger contract. He declined $10 million per year from Los Angeles but may not get as much as anticipated this offseason as he didn’t exactly set the world on fire last year.

Gordon, 26, rushed for 612 yards with only eight touchdowns in the 12 games that he was active for.

Gordon had publicly voiced his willingness to play for Brian Flores and the Dolphins for the right price. Signing on with the Dolphins would present a concrete opportunity to play every game and rebuild his potential value for the future.

Miami will also be searching for a new quarterback and many new pieces to help fill out a young, rebuilding roster.
