Report: Titans Sign Ryan Tannehill to Multi-Year Extension

Ryan Tannehill will not have to test out the free agency frenzy of the 2020 season.

The Titans are signing Tannehill to a four-year deal worth $118 million, per ESPN’s Jeff Darlington. Tannehill gets $91 million in total guarantees and $62 million in fully guaranteed money.

The Titans had been attempting a possible run for in free agency for Tom Brady, but that will no longer be a priority.

This deal is huge as the Titans can now use their franchise tag on superstar running back Derrick Henry and not have to worry about him hitting the free agent market.

This is a fascinating turn of events from just a short year ago. Last March, the Titans acquired Tannehill to back up Marcus Maroita but Tannehill ended up taking over for Mariota. Now, Tennessee is poised to let Mariota walk as they lock up Tannehill as a potential franchise quarterback.
