LSU’s Joe Brady Hired as Panthers’ Offensive Coordinator

One day after the LSU Tigers won the College Football Championship, it appears Joe Brady, the passing game coordinator, is leaving the university and rejoining the NFL.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady will be joining Carolina Panthers head coach Matt Rhule in Charlotte as the team’s offensive coordinator. This comes as a surprise to many as Brady stated just days ago that his intentions were to stay at LSU and he would remain a Tiger as long as the team wanted him.

This move will make Brady, 30, the youngest coordinator in the league. Brady’s coaching history includes a two-year stint as a graduate assistant at Penn State along with two years as an assistant at his alma mater, William & Mary. The coach then spent two years as a low-level offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints before taking the spot with LSU for the 2019 season.

Brady was awarded the Broyles Award, which is given to the college football’s top assistant, and helped lead the Tigers to an undefeated 15-0 season, the SEC conference title, and the National Championship title while at LSU.

This is an interesting move for the Panthers, who snatched Rhule from Baylor University and have now hired another coach from the college football arena.
