There was controversy before the game even started on Sunday when Dak Prescott fumbled through every word in the dictionary at the coin flip.
Thank goodness for quality audio because the coin flip was reviewed in New York as Prescott’s “defer” was heard near the end of the confusing verbal exchange.
To further cement my theory that the Cowboys have been “bluffing,” as I stated earlier, there are a few topics that need further evaluation and discussion.
Troy Aikman’s broadcast across the sportscast during the game said that Prescott had a hairline fracture in his throwing index finger. Jason Garrett, wouldn’t confirm the injury during his regular Monday press conference. “I do know he has a little injury to his index finger,” Garrett said. Was Garrett trying to down-play the injury so that opposing teams wouldn’t target the injury? I don’t think so; rather, I think it was pre-staged in case the Cowboys lost and could refer blame to Prescott’s fractured finger if the offense struggled once again.
“There is nothing I would like more than to ride his [Jason Garrett’s] coattail into a fairytale here,” said Jerry Jones after the game. That was another “bluff” statement from the owner. The team dominated the entire game against a solid 8-5 team.
Once again, the Cowboys have not had to win a game for the last handful of games. With the Eagles’ win earlier in the day on Sunday, the Cowboys needed a win. They didn’t just win but made a statement to the rest of the league. Playoff teams do not want to travel to Dallas in fear of getting backlash from across the nation after a devastating loss.
The team is looking to get hot and make a run late in the season with intentions to carry the momentum deep into the postseason.
How about Forbath’s impressive debut while going three-for-three on field goals and perfect on five extra-point attempts? His kickoffs are another story, but let’s forget about that for now. It seems to be that the Cowboys have found their future kicker.
The kick-start we needed was when Tavon Austin scored a 59-yard touchdown on a play that was “Texas-size” wide-open. Dak escaped a rushing defender to hit Austin on the play.

Linebacker Sean Lee made an impact on the game with a crowd erupting interception and returned it 25-yards that set up another Cowboy touchdown before the first half was over. Tight End Jason Witten scored on a one-handed catch to prove that he still has a bit left in his tank.
The shocking development in this game was the zero missed tackles except for when the team was in “garbage time.” The entire defense played with intensity and accountability that the team has been missing since Bring Your Teddy Bear to School Day in mid-October. The defensive front is a different team when tackle Antwaun Woods is on the field.
Running back, Zeke Elliott, carried the ball 24 times Sunday afternoon. It’s only the second game he’s had with over 20 carries in the last five games. Zeke and rookie running back, Tony Pollard, combined for 248 yards on the ground. The two backs complement each other and provide nightmares for opposing defenses.
Zeke is a class act and to hear people state that he isn’t worth the money is just non-sense.

Final predictions for the two regular-season remaining games. The Cowboys are looking to shutout the Eagles this week with another convincing and accountable win. They will come out scoring touchdowns every drive and run up the score and then allow the Eagles some “garbage time.” Then, the Cowboys will rest the starters the second half after the Redskins game.
The “fairy-tale” story officially starts Wildcard weekend.
