Julian Edelman Speaks On Patriots Offense

It’s wouldn’t be breaking news to say that this Patriots offense has been largely underwhelming this season. While still doing what it takes to win, talking heads across the country haven’t stopped poking holes in their performance every chance they get.

Well, the team has heard all this talk and Julian Edelman decided to speak on it.

This is the aspect of this offense that many experts seem to be glossing over.

Brady and crew haven’t had to take a game over and completely dominate on that side of the ball like they have in previous years. Their defense has been making it easier by basically saying “don’t make any mistakes, and we’ll do the rest.”

That leaks over into the gameplan as well. Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels don’t need complex plays or a spread offense all game to win. Play good, solid, mistake-free football and that should be good enough.

Edelman even acknowledges that they’re not where they want to be yet, and that’s normally the case every year with this team. The only difference this season is that when the offense isn’t quite clicking, the defense is that good to where they can take the game over. And that’s a great luxury to have.

We’ll find out Sunday night exactly how far along this offense has to go because Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have the No. 1-ranked offense in the league. While the New England defense should be able to tame that production a bit, Brady and his offense are going to have to put on their best performance of the season to stay undefeated.
