Cleveland Browns to Sign TE Demetrius Harris

Former Kansas City Chiefs tight end Demetrius Harris has agreed to sign with the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Schefter mentions that the agreement is a 2-year pact, though the dollars and cents have not been officially disclosed at this point.

Harris, 27, is a former collegiate basketball player at Wisconsin-Milwaukee until 2013. The 6-foot-7, 230 pound forward began garnering interest from NFL scouts following the completion of the ’13 basketball season and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent.

Browns general manager John Dorsey was the architect of the Chiefs at the time of Harris’ signing and took advantage of the TE’s availability this offseason.

Harris had 57 receptions, 605 receiving yards and seven touchdowns during his five seasons in Kansas City. His height and experience will make him an interesting piece for a re-tooled offense in Cleveland.
