Report: Patriots ‘Have Called’ About 2 Receivers

Though undefeated, the New England Patriots have depth issues at wide receiver and have been on the forefront of trade talks.

This has not changed as per CLNS Media, the Patriots seem to be legitimately pursuing wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Mohamed Sanu.

The Patriots have been high on Sanders ever since his stint with Pittsburgh signing the quick receiver to an offer sheet that was matched by the Steelers.

He has had great success as a Denver Bronco winning a Super Bowl in 2015 bookended by two Pro Bowl berths in 2014 and 2016.

He recorded three straight 1,000 yard seasons from 2014-2016.

Sanu, 30, is a Rutgers product which helps put the receiver in good graces with head coach Bill Belichick as he is a fan of the program. He is also the taller receiver of the duo standing at 6-foot-2.

Contrary to Sanders, Sanu has not won a Super Bowl nor recorded a 1,000 yard season. However, he had his career high in receptions with 67 in 2017 and his career high in receiving yards the next season with 838.
