Brady Comments on Josh Allen Hit

Tom Brady has addressed the hit heard around the football world yesterday.

The hit being cornerback Jonathan Jones’ tackle on Josh Allen which sent the quarterback into concussion protocol and NFL fans clamoring for action.

Brady was on “The Greg Hill Show” this morning where he told WEEI that what happened is just part of football.

“You never like to see anyone get hurt out there,” Brady told WEEI. “You know, football’s a contact sport. It’s part of football.”

Brady also recounted what head coach Bill Belichick said to him when Drew Bledsoe went down.

“He said. ‘Hey Brady, if you want to have a career in this league, when you’re running like that, you either throw the ball away or you slide,'” Brady recounted.

Brady voiced caution to mobile quarterbacks who have an increasing risk of injury with their style of play.

“A lot of quarterbacks who do run, you’re trying to make yards and it’s great and at the same time you’re susceptible to big hits,” Brady said. “Whether it’s a flag or not, a lot of rules have changed over the years, I feel like its always best to try and be available to the team.”
