Report: Patriots Release Tight End

That did not last long.

Per sources the New England Patriots have released tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

Jenkins, 26, was selected by the Tampa Buccaneers in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Washington University.

The former Jet is reportedly taking a month off for personal reasons and the team granted his release because of this.

Stephen Anderson, Matt LaCosse, and Ryan Izzo are the only tight ends eligible to play Week 1 as Ben Watson is suspended for the first four games of the season
