Is David Price the Red Sox New Ace?

Since David Price came over to the Red Sox in 2016, Boston media had it out for him.

Constantly discussing the bad rather than the good and being quick to share awful news. The 33-year-old had something to say after the Boston Red Sox dominated all season long and did what all the guys are there to do, win a World Series.

Price often does not pitch to his potential against the rival Yankees. He deserved the last laugh when the season concluded by making history.

Receiving the only loss in the ALDS in 2018, and known for slipping in the postseason, he came back with a mission. In his two starts and one relief outing, Price pitched 13.2 innings earning an ERA of just 1.98 and achieving the two wins in the WS.

Flipping the page and beginning 2019 with the built-up weight off his shoulders, the champ proved something last night.

Giving up two earned runs and striking out six, Price got the W against the Bronx Bombers. He held them off until the 4th before giving up a long shot to Luke Voit, then things got shaky.

Still putting up a fight before handing the ball to the bullpen in the 7th with one out, the offense showed up to support.

Other big name pitcher in Boston, Chris Sale, is widely named as an ace and without a doubt has the best arm in the league when he’s on his game. Sale is amongst the best in the game with 98 Ks for the season, but has a disappointing record of 1-7 and a 4.35 ERA.

With a record of 3-2 for the 2019 season, and an ERA of 2.83, it’s starting to look like David Price perhaps is reclaiming the throne.

Boston fans for sure just want all their pitchers to go out there and throw the best they can and do all they can for the W. Nevertheless, after everything David Price has been through while being a part of the Red Sox franchise, he absolutely needs to get the recognition he’s so hardly worked for.
