Rams Run Ragged, Roll Cowboys

In what appeared to be a fairly even matchup on the docket for the night-cap of Saturday football this Divisional Weekend, the Los Angeles Rams drilled the NFC East-winning Cowboys 30-22.

The score might appear close—but if it weren’t for a late TD run from Dak Prescott, the Rams would’ve held a two-score lead through the finish.

Rushing for over 250 yards between Todd Gurley, C.J. Anderson, and a handful of wide receivers, the Los Angeles Rams were able to ride their home crowd’s energy to the finish line against the undisciplined Dallas defense.

It seemed as if every single third down stop for Dallas resulted in a defensive holding or offsides; regardless, it inevitably resulted in the Rams getting a first down. It was utter domination on the part of the Sean McVay-led Rams.

It took a bit for LA to get going, as they were able to get themselves down into the red zone, but had no success trying to punch it in. After two drives, the Rams had just two red zone field goals. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott’s first drive was a quick one; he went 3-3, for north of 50 yards and a TD pass to Amari Cooper.

But that was the only lead Dallas was able to have, and it didn’t last too long.

C.J. Anderson was the man in this one. The guy who couldn’t stick to an NFL roster this season found all his 5-feet-8- inch, 225-pound frame being put to the task against a very talented Cowboys front, and he absolutely lit them up. He turned back the clock, running for north of 100 yards, logging over 20 carries, and found pay dirt twice in the winning effort.

Todd Gurley was, well, Todd Gurley. He also rushed for over 100 yards, in less than 20 carries, and was able to take a little bit of a back seat to Anderson as he continues to recover from a leg injury that sidelined him for the last two weeks of the regular season.

With this win, the Rams will be traveling to New Orleans next week to take on the Saints, or playing host to the Nick Foles-led Eagles; all depending on how the game goes between New Orleans and Philadelphia on Sunday.
