The move has now become reality as the New England Patriots have reportedly traded for wide receiver Josh Gordon for a fifth-round selection.

NFL insider Ian Rapoport broke the news just minutes ago.

Rapoport previously stated on Twitter that the team was reportedly “close” to a deal after rumors circulated that the 2013 All-Pro receiver’s top destinations were Dallas or San Francisco.

With Gordon officially a Patriot, there are questions surrounding not only the 27-year-old’s character, but also regarding his hamstring.

However according to reports, the MRI on his hamstring came back “fine” and he should be clear to play this week.

In addition to trading for Gordon, the Patriots also released his former teammate Corey Coleman to make room for the Pro Bowl receiver.

The Patriots receiving group is now as follows.

  1. Chris Hogan
  2. Phillip Dorsett
  3. Cordarrelle Patterson
  4. Josh Gordon
  5. Matthew Slater
