Are you searching for something distinct or rare in your team’s schedule for next season? Well, here’s a handy guide focused on teams from the Southeast Division. We start off with one “quirk” for each team.
Atlanta Hawks
The team would rather press the “fast forward” button to March, a month that will see them play 10 of 15 games at home. This should be quite a big advantage if they want to make it to the Play-In Tournament or straight to the NBA Playoffs.
Orlando Magic
History will be made when the NBA plays a regular-season game in Berlin for the first time in January 2026. Orlando’s team will be there to soak it all in when they face the Memphis Grizzlies. This will be special for Franz Wagner and his brother, Moritz, who were born in Berlin.

Charlotte Hornets
LaMelo Ball, who is from Los Angeles, has some planning to do. He could be stuck in L.A. for five or six days when the Hornets play the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers in the same road trip. That mini-break in mid-January is his chance to see family and friends.
Miami Heat
Conflict with football? For some reason, the Heat will have to play a game on Super Bowl Sunday. Additionally, they will also have to play a game during the 2026 College Football National Championship. Those are two days when all of America won’t be concentrating on basketball at all.
Washington Wizards
The Wizards are going to have 21 home games held on the weekends. That has to be good news for a team that was in the bottom five when it came to those attendance reports. Is newcomer CJ McCollum enough to draw a crowd? We will know soon enough.
CJ McCollum told me that the Wizards are one of the most “organized organizations” he’s been a part of. He mentioned their variety of resources and how they care about every player on the roster, not just the top guys. pic.twitter.com/wlevv9WHJk
