I don’t know if I am alone in this, but after playing a sports game for nearly a year, I start to get bored and sick of the same formula. With games like 2K or EAFC (FIFA), which are the games I probably play the most, it feels like each year I am playing a similar game and not really seeing many changes to the games I love.
On the one hand, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, but on the other hand, it sometimes feels like I am paying money to play the same game with better mechanics and slightly better features. Reading this, it might sound like I hate these games, which is massively wrong. I love them a lot and this is why it makes me angry, it is passion. I often get asked by my friends, who feel the same about these games, what I play so instead of now writing a list for them I will write a list for anyone who needs the help.
CSGO
CSGO has been around for a decade now and still has a massive fanbase which I am a part of now. This is a first-person shooter and is one of the more competitive games I will speak about today and because of this, it gets you really invested and makes you want to get better.
If you are unsure of what CS2/CS GO is, it is a 5 v 5 shooter game where you take turns being the attacker and the defender. As the attacking team, you want to plant the bomb and win the round. As the defending team, you have to either kill the attacking team or defuse the bomb.
The concept is simple but there are other things in the CSGO world that make it fresh and popular. The main thing is the CS Gambling that changed the game, you can find sites with a range of Rust Gambling, Coinflip or CS roulette games while betting with skins you get in the game itself. If you haven’t tried this game, I implore you to try.
Stardew Valley
In a complete U-turn and a game that I did not expect to like, Stardew Valley has had an update recently and brought all of its old fans back and made new ones, like me.
Stardew Valley is a simulation game that starts when the player takes the role of a character who inherits their deceased grandfather’s neglected farm which is called, you guessed it, Stardew Valley.
This game may sound completely terrible and not for you, but at $15 I thought I would take a punt and I am now slightly addicted to this silly little game.
Games To Look For
In October, the new Call Of Duty comes out and once again it is Treyarch, who are the best developers for CoD games and for this, they have returned to their roots with Black Ops 6.
All the things that have come out about this game have been wildly exciting to read about and they keep adding and announcing things that fans have been clamoring for. Most recently they announced that they will allow players to pause and restart solo Zombie games, which is a needed feature and one I cannot wait for.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Finally, a game that releases in November is the new Assassin’s Creed with a slight switch up to the game series. This year’s Assassin’s Creed follows Samurais and has brought back some of its best producers and creative directors from its heyday to work on this.
The Samurai aspect of the game may be slightly similar to Ghosts of Tsunami but if this year’s Assassins Creed is even half as good as that game, we are in for a big treat.
