On Thursday morning, the Boston Red Sox account announced left-handed relief pitcher, Robby Scott, underwent a successful left elbow arthroscopy and debridement the day before.

This came as a surprise to most due to the fact that there was no word of injury at all, until this point. President of Baseball Operations, Dave Dombrowski did not seem to shed any indication of the surgery during a press conference Wednesday.

Over the course of his 2017 campaign, the lefty-specialist ,who last pitched in the Red Sox regular season finale, worked 35.2 innings and managed a 3.79 ERA. Left-handed hitters had a .121 batting average against him and an on-base percentage of .224.

Scott is expected to be ready by Spring Training.
