NBA Week 21: Games to Watch

There are a lot of unknowns in play for the last few weeks of the season, but the overall sentiment is that teams, especially those hovering around the Play-In Tournament spots, will be making huge breakthroughs soon. Anything less than the tenth seed will be considered a letdown. It is time to check some of the best games for the upcoming week.

Mar. 6: Portland Trail Blazers @ Detroit Pistons

71-point performance again? Damian Lillard scored 71 points against the Houston Rockets recently. It was an amazing scoring run but not really surprising since Lillard was facing the worst team in the West. Now he will face the Pistons, the worst team in the East. That is why this game must be on everyone’s radar. Against weak competition, maybe Lillard could erupt for another scoring outburst.

Mar. 8 Oklahoma City Thunder @ Phoenix Suns

Chris Paul and Kevin Durant have one thing in common. Both of them used to play for Oklahoma City. They were never teammates since they played for the Thunder at different stages of their careers, but they will want to put on a show when their former team visits them in Footprint Center. Oklahoma’s squad might be missing their best player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, so Josh Giddey elevating his game will be worth watching.

Mar. 9 Golden State Warriors @ Memphis Grizzlies

The Grizzlies, especially Dillon Brooks, do not like the Warriors and Draymond Green at all. Brooks even said Green wouldn’t be the same if you placed him on another team. So look for tempers to flare when these two teams meet. The Warriors probably do not see the Grizzlies as a rivalry-worthy opponent yet, but you know they will be stepping up their game for this matchup.

Mar. 11: Milwaukee Bucks @ Golden State Warriors

The last two NBA champions will be facing each other, but there is another storyline to follow. Can the Warriors do their “Third-quarter” blitz against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks? We have seen the Warriors obliterate their opponents, especially in the third quarter. Just ask the Los Angeles Clippers and the Trail Blazers, who had double-digit leads against the Warriors recently, only to see them get outscored after the halftime break.

Mar. 11 and 12: New York Knicks in Los Angeles

The Knicks are one of the hottest teams right now. Something changed their identity ever since Josh Hart arrived. Players are playing with more passion, and things are starting to click. Now they will have to battle both teams from the L.A. area inside Crypto.com Arena on consecutive nights. Hart and Julius Randle will feel right at home since both players started their careers with the Lakers.
