Week 16

Bengals 22, Patriots 18

Cincinnati’s bid for the AFC North title remained strong as they defeated the Patriots in New England. The Patriots nearly came back from a three-score deficit, by Rhamondre Stevenson’s fourth-quarter fumble in the red zone gave the ball back to the Bengals and essentially sealed the outcome. Joe Burrow completed 40 passes for 375 yards and three touchdowns. Joe Mixon totaled 108 scrimmage yards, Tee Higgins tallied 128 yards and one touchdown, and Trenton Irwin found the end zone twice. For New England, Kendrick Bourne scored a touchdown and had the first 100-yard game of his career. Jakobi Meyers added 83 yards and a score, but it wasn’t enough. This ended up being the 1,075th Scorigami of all-time, thanks in large part to three missed extra points and one missed field goal between Evan McPherson and Nick Folk.

Week 4

Seahawks 48, Lions 45

Sunday’s high-scoring affair between the Seahawks and Lions gave us the first instance of Scorigami in 2022 (and the 1,073rd all-time). This game was dominated by a variety of offensive playmakers, including the running backs. Seattle’s Rashaad Penny finished with 157 scrimmage yards and a pair of touchdowns while Detroit’s Jamaal Williams added 109 yards and two scores of his own. In the passing attack, DK Metcalf emerged with a whopping 149 yards while TJ Hockenson had one of the best tight end performances this season, amassing 179 yards and two touchdowns. While the Seahawks never trailed in this game, the Lions did make things interesting by coming within three points on two separate occasions in the final quarter of play.
