MLB DFS Tuesday Tossers and Tanks

MLB DFS Tuesday Tossers and Tanks

A massive 14-game slate for DFS begins at 7:05 pm EDT on DraftKings. As always with this many games, it gets hard to decide which players to have in your lineups, especially when you are looking to save some salary. But you’ve come to the right place. There are plenty of bargains, and I will break down my favorites.

As usual, these are pitchers at $8,000 and under along with hitting bargains at $4,000 and under which is gold for your DFS lineups if they produce. It also allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with studs. Let’s get to it.

Be sure to check us out daily for our DFS content.

On the Mound

Mitch White @ St. Louis Cardinals ($7,800)

Since White has become part of the Dodgers rotation, he has pitched well and seems to be getting better. He allowed just one hit and struck out six against Colorado in his last outing and has a fine 2.93 ERA as a starter on the season. While the Cardinals have a decent lineup overall, they have struggled in July scoring just 27 runs in 11 games while being shut out four times.

Pivots: Jordan Lyles @ Chicago Cubs ($7,300) – Josh Winder vs. Milwaukee Brewers ($7,000)

On the Dirt

Ryan Mountcastle, 1B ($3,700)

This guy has been hitting for a while now and his price remains manageable. Over his last 25 games started, Mountcastle is slashing .330/.358/.638 with 19 extra-base hits. He has also averaged 10.2 DK points over that time putting up double digits 12 times. He also has hit 11 of his 14 homers off of right-handers and gets to face Adrian Sampson making just his fourth start of the season tonight.

Pivot: Nathaniel Lowe ($3,600)

Jake Cronenworth, 2B ($3,900)

Whenever Cronenworth is in Coors Field he is a must-play. In four games this season, the Padres second baseman is 9-for-16 with a couple of doubles and a home run. For his career in Colorado, he is slashing .397/.455/.750. There is no way he shouldn’t be in a few of your lineups tonight especially at this price which may be a little low due to him facing a lefty, but Cronenworth this season has a .728 OPS against southpaws. Lock him in.

Pivot: Thairo Estrada ($3,500)

Matt Carpenter, 3B ($3,900)

We are witnessing a resurgence like no other. Carpenter was basically left for dead after a dismal three seasons in St. Louis where he had a .671 OPS and just 22 homers in 309 games from 2019-2021. After a minor-league stint with Texas in the beginning of the year, the Yankees picked him up off the scrap heap and he has rewarded them with 10 bombs in just 77 plate appearances. Batting at home against a righty in Graham Ashcraft is a perfect spot for him to stay hot.

Pivot: Yoan Moncada ($3,000)

On the Grass

Randal Grichuk ($3,700)

Grichuk is having his usual season. However, he has taken to playing his home games at Coors Field. The slugger is slashing .294/.325/.476 at home and has hit seven of his nine homers in Colorado. Mike Clevinger has been solid, but unremarkable this season. He will struggle tonight, and Grichuk will take advantage.

Pivots: Kole Calhoun ($3,500) – Alex Verdugo ($3,300) – Alek Thomas ($2,900)

Good Luck with all of your DFS lineups.
