We have a monster 13-game main slate for MLB DFS beginning at 7:05 pm EDT on DraftKings. That means we have plenty of players to choose from and deciding on who to feature in your lineups could be daunting. Along with my usual bargains, I will give you a few other options if you decide to spend up or want to go another route with your lineup construction.
As usual, these are pitchers at $8,000 and under along with hitting bargains at $4,000 and under which is gold for your DFS lineups if they produce. It also allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with studs. Let’s get to it.
Be sure to check us out daily for our DFS content.
On the Mound
Roansy Contreras vs. Chicago Cubs ($7,400)
Contreras has come down to earth a bit over his last couple of starts. However, those games were on the road against the Atlanta Braves and St. Louis Cardinals. As for the 22-year-old pitching at home this season, he has not allowed an earned run yet at PNC. In those 13.2 innings, Contreras has also struck out 18 while surrendering just eight hits. The Cubs have struggled to score runs, especially lately, plating just 28 runs in their last 11 games.
Other Bargains: Rich Hill vs. Detroit Tigers ($7,200), Reid Detmers vs. Kansas City Royals ($6,700)
On the Dirt
Josh Bell, 1B ($3,500)
Bell has had one of the most consistent floors this season in DFS. For the month of June, he has averaged 10 DK points per game and only put up a goose egg twice. His power has come through as well as he blasted seven home runs already this month while hitting only four in April and May combined. Jordan Lyles is starting for the Baltimore Orioles and has been getting lit up over his last three starts to the tune of 22 hits and 14 earned runs in 15.1 innings.
Spend Up Option: Rhys Hoskins ($5,000)
Other Bargain: Ryan Mountcastle ($3,900)
Third Base: Ke’Bryan Hayes ($3,600) – Spend Up Option: Rafael Devers ($5,500)
Shortstop: Javier Baez ($3,800) – Spend Up Option: Carlos Correa ($4,700)
On the Grass
Bryan Reynolds ($3,800)
While his overall numbers don’t look so impressive, Reynolds has been hot over his last dozen games. In that time, the switch-hitter has slashed .419/.458/.698 with three homers. Reynolds raised his OPS .085 as well. Right-hander Matt Swarmer has crashed back to reality over his last two starts allowing 11 hits and 10 runs in just 8.2 innings. The Yankees tagged him for six bombs and the Cubs righty has been smacked for 10 on the year.
Brandon Nimmo ($3,700)
Nimmo has been feast or famine over his last 10 contests. He has multi-hit games in five of them but has gone hitless in four. Jose Urquidy pitches for the Houston Astros tonight and has been very hittable lately. Over his last six outings, the right-hander has allowed opponents a .931 OPS while giving up at least one long ball in each game.
Spend Up Option: Adolis Garcia ($4,500)
Other Bargains: Taylor Ward ($3,700), Jarren Duran ($3,300)
Good Luck with all of your DFS lineups.
