MLB DFS Five and Dime Sunday

MLB DFS Five and Dime Sunday

Good morning my fellow DFS degenerates. We have a hefty 10-game slate today on DraftKings starting at 1:35 pm EDT. So, we head to our favorite five-and-dime store to grab a quintet of bargains for this afternoon’s tilt.

As usual, these are pitchers at $8,000 and under along with hitting bargains at $4,000 and under which is gold for your DFS lineups if they produce. It also allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with studs. Let’s get to it.

Be sure to check us out daily for our DFS content.

On the Mound

Dakota Hudson vs. Cincinnati Reds ($7,100)

Hudson somehow continues to outperform his metrics. His career ERA of 3.06 defies logic as his FIP is 4.58. This season he has a 2.76 ERA with a FIP of 4.25. Part of his success could be attributed to the fact that he gets hitters to pound the ball into the ground at a 56.7 percent clip. Pair that with the excellent Cardinals defense and there’s your recipe for winning. Hudson also loves pitching at home where he holds a 1.35 ERA while allowing opposing hitters a .569 OPS.

Other Bargain: Ranger Suarez vs. Arizona Diamondbacks ($8,000)

On the Dirt

Rhys Hoskins, 1B ($3,800)

The big first baseman has been hot lately. After starting the month 2-for-14, Hoskins has gone 9-for-22 with three home runs over his last five games. With an average of 14 DK points in that time, the Phillie is a solid play, especially at this price. The Diamondbacks are going to roll with left-handed opener Kyle Nelson, followed by Luke Weaver who hasn’t pitched in two months.

Other Bargain: Nathaniel Lowe ($3,100)

Christopher Morel, 2B ($3,900)

This kid doesn’t seem like he is going to slow down any time soon. Yesterday was the first game of the season where Morel did not score a DFS point. However, in June alone he has put up double-digit points in six of his nine games while averaging 10.3 DK points. He has been tearing up right-handed hurlers this season to the tune of .319/.402/.528. He faces Jameson Taillon this afternoon.

Other Bargain: Luis Garcia ($2,800)

Gio Urshela, 3B ($3,600)

Despite getting his modest seven-game hitting streak snapped on Friday, Urshela has been consistently good this season. Over his last 11 games the third baseman is slashing .325/.357/.600 with seven extra-base hits. The Minnesota Twins as a team have been scoring at a ridiculous rate. Over the last eight games, they have put across 54 runs. Check the lineup today as Urshela had the day off yesterday and should be in the lineup. Teammate Jose Miranda ($3,000) is another option. If both are in the lineup, Miranda may be the play to save you the $600.

On the Grass

Nick Castellanos ($4,000)

Like Hoskins, Castellanos started the month slowly, going 0-for-14 to begin June. Since then, the right-handed slugger has been 7-for-19. While six of those hits have been singles, he gets a good matchup today as mentioned earlier. With Hoskins and Castellanos in your lineup, you could afford to stack Bryce Harper or Kyle Schwarber today along with them.

Other Bargains: Anthony Santander ($3,800), Ian Happ ($3,500)

Good Luck with all of your DFS lineups.
