The calendar has flipped to June. For fans of the National Football League, it is the last month without football until March. With camps becoming more intense as the 2022 season creeps ever closer, veterans are trying to keep their jobs while rookies are attempting to build chemistry with their respective teams. Meanwhile, fantasy football owners are hard at work studying up for upcoming drafts after an offseason that saw many marquee players take their talents elsewhere. This monthly piece will reassess some of the questions from previous installments and new ones will be addressed. It is time for the June Edition of the Tennessee Titans “True or False?”.

The A.J. Brown Trade was the Worst Thing, Ever?
False. While the majority of Titans fans think otherwise, the team wanted to keep their elite wide receiver but the sides could not agree on a dollar amount. When they refused to let him force their hand, it ultimately led to Brown being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles during the NFL Draft. For a team that offensively runs through Derrick Henry, spending over $20 million for a wideout will likely never happen. While it remains a hard pill to swallow for the fanbase, it at least makes sense.
Brown would have likely held out if a deal was not reached. If he decided not to, would he have given 100 percent and risk losing his big pay day? The deal at least got the Titans something in return, a rookie wide receiver in Treylon Burks out of Arkansas, who many actually compared to Brown leading into the draft, including PTST’s own Kamran Nia. His scouting report on Burks can be found here. Tennessee gets a talented rookie rather than having Brown walk at season’s end for nothing at all.
Ryan Tannehill will Rebound from his Disappointing Playoff Performance?
True. That devastating loss to Cincinnati has lingered in the veteran signal callers’ mind all offseason. That last interception that he threw into double coverage when the receiver behind him was wide open ate at him. If he uses that as a chip on his shoulder, he could be dangerous. Add to that the fact that the Titans drafted their quarterback of the future, Malik Willis, who shockingly dropped to the third round. Tannehill will look to stave off losing his starting job in Nashville, the same way he got it in the first place.
There Will be an Under the Radar Addition?
False. The Jadeveon Clowney and Julio Jones debacles will make the Titans more wary this heading into this season. Barring an unforeseen injury in camp or during the preseason, this roster is what it is. However, there are some enticing names left unsigned.
Defensively, players like Trey Flowers, Justin Houston and Sheldon Richardson are available. Offensively Will Fuller, Cole Beasley, Emmanuel Sanders, Odell Beckham Jr. and Jones. With Burks and former Los Angeles Rams receiver Robert Woods (coming back from a torn ACL), one of those veteran wide receivers would not be a bad idea. The unpopular opinion Jones would make sense. He played in the system, although he didn’t produce like the Titans had hoped. With his career approaching its conclusion, a return to Tennessee and a chance to rebound with a better season would benefit the Titans and his legacy in the NFL.
