It’s time for another entry into the gambling picks of the Daily Dollar with a big Saturday night on tap. Between the NBA, NHL, and UFC, there are a bevy of options to place your wagers. Get in while the gettin’s good, and fatten up that bankroll before Sunday presents even more betting options. Who takes the lead in the Miami Heat/Boston Celtics series tonight? Will Holly Holm return to prominence in the octagon? Which team breaks the deadlock in the NHL? These are not toss-ups, so let’s strike while the iron is hot.

NBA: Miami Heat at Boston Celtics o207.5 (-110)
The under has hit often in the postseason for Boston, but this is not your typical series. At first blush, taking the Celtics -6.5 is extraordinarily tempting. After all, it’s their first game at home in the series and they are returning to their fans off of a 25-point victory. With that said, the Heat know they have to perform offensively in order to come out on top in this series. The two teams have combined for an average of 218 points scored in four matchups this season (including Games 1 and 2 of this series). After scoring just 102 in Game 2, Miami comes out gunning. Jimmy Butler is in for a career day, and Bam Adebayo should impress after a terrible effort. With the Heat hitting buckets, they will push Boston to the brink. The Celtics will likely win the affair, but this game is going over the listed total.
Book it: Heat and Celtics over 207.5 points scored (-110)
NHL: Colorado Avalanche at St. Louis Blues u6.5 (-105)
It’s another 1-1 matchup in the NHL, which sees Colorado head to St. Louis hoping to score at will. Unfortunately, that result is not likely in the cards. Each team has a goalie performing admirably between the Avalanche’s Darcy Kuemper (1.98 goals against average) and the Blues’ Jordan Binnington (1.75 GAA, .948 save percentage). St. Louis plays a slower brand of hockey and won’t likely be pushing the puck down the ice in a hurry, regardless of being in front of the home crowd. To be completely honest, I am not sure how Vegas came up with this total. Colorado does like to play the attack and will attempt to press on the offensive end, but the Blues nearly topped the league defensively in goals allowed. They’ll keep it close and slow. The Avalanche will most definitely win this game (-170, safe bet), but the wise man’s money is on the under.

UFC: Holly Holm/Ketlen Vieira – Unanimous Decision (-125)
It should be an exciting night for UFC Fight Night 206. Aside from Holm making her first appearance in the octagon since 2020, the card has a number of good fights across the board. Even with Vieira being more active of late, this feels like Holm’s match to lose. However, having not fought under the lights in well over a year, expecting Holm to come out and dominate immediately might be a foolish proposition. Betting a quick end to the fight is a bad bet, even though Vegas has installed her as a huge favorite (-225). Even before her break, four of Holm’s last five battles went the distance. She won three of them by unanimous decision. Vieira has been streaky of late, and her last three contests also ended in UD, as she won two of them. Both fighters are chomping at the bit for different reasons. While the fight may jump off to a supercharged start, strategy and survival is likely to kick in for both. Holm makes her triumphant return and wins, but not before Vieira makes a match of it. This should be an extremely entertaining faceoff.
