Super Bowl 56 Preview

Super Bowl 56 is just a few days away. The AFC Champions, the Cincinnati Bengals are coming off another thrilling win on the road. For the second time in four years, the Los Angeles Rams will be representing the NFC in the big game. There is some familiarity between the two head coaches in this matchup. Sean McVay had Zac Taylor on his staff the first two years he was with the Rams. These two teams have had special years and should make for a great game.

Check out our season recaps for the other 30 teams.

Los Angeles Rams at Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals offense heads into this game led by their young star quarterback Joe Burrow. Expect him to rise to the occasion in this game as he has proven throughout his college and pro career. Establishing the running game with Joe Mixon will be important to slow down the Rams’ special defensive front led by Aaron Donald, Von Miller, and Leonard Floyd. They will give the Bengals offensive line problems. On the outside, there is a ton of talent. The Bengals great wide receiver trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd should have good battles with the best cornerback, Jalen Ramsey along with Darious Williams, and David Long Jr.

For the Rams offense, continued success from Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and Odell Beckham Jr. will be needed. The Bengals have a talented defense that plays together. Upfront, Trey Hendrickson, D.J. Reader, B.J. Hill, and Sam Hubbard are a talented group that should compete well against a solid Rams offensive line. The Rams will need Cam Akers, Van Jefferson, and if he plays, Tyler Higbee to all give some contributions. The Bengals have a good back seven who will make plays led by Jessie Bates, Logan Wilson, Chidobe Awuzie, and Mike Hilton.

The Final

Ultimately, this game will be decided by a few key things. The team who wins in the trenches will have a good advantage, which should go to the Rams. For the Bengals to win, their offensive line has got to hold up. Along with trench play, turnovers and penalties will be key. The team that commits fewer mistakes will have a better chance to win. Special teams will also be crucial, Evan McPherson could once again be a difference. There should be good offense and defense played by both teams in this game. Expect this one to go to the end like every game the last two weeks of postseason play. The Rams will win at the end by a field goal and be Super Bowl champions.
