Week 7 Fantasy Football Busts

Fantasy Football Busts

Choosing the players who will succeed and benching the ones who will not is essential to winning in fantasy football. Each week, fantasy owners will have to make the tough decision to put a player they like on the bench because the truth is that player is a bust. The willingness to do so is what separates good fantasy owners from bad ones. Let’s take a look at five players who could bust in Week 7.

Devontae Booker – RB, New York Giants (vs CAR)

Booker was a popular start last week with Saquon Barkley being injured and he was solid putting up 10.9 fantasy points. However this week he is playing against one of the best run defenses in the league. The Carolina Panthers have allowed the least points to opposing running backs and if the Giants offense struggles again this week Booker will underperform.

Damien Williams – RB, Chicago Bears (vs TB)

Williams had great weeks when healthy filling in for injured David Montgomery. However, this week he is coming off the Covid-19 list and could bust. The Bears are playing a really good run defense against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and with their recent offensive struggles, Williams is a risky play this week.

Tee Higgins – WR, Cincinnati Bengals (vs BAL)

Higgins has struggled recently putting up 10.2 and 7.4 fantasy point weeks. This week, the Bengals are facing a hot Baltimore Ravens team coming off a big win against the Los Angeles Chargers. The Ravens have allowed the sixth-least points to wide receivers they have faced and if Ja’Marr Chase continues his rookie season excellence, Higgins could be outshined once again.

Chris Godwin – WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (vs CHI)

Godwin has been a good WR2/FLEX option in 10-12 man leagues, but this week other options should be considered. He has only scored two touchdowns all year and has been inconsistent when he does not score one. The Chicago Bears defense has been decent, but since their offense has struggled, if the Buccaneers take the lead early, they could shy away from the pass later on and Godwin would bust.

Zach Ertz – TE, Arizona Cardinals (vs HOU)

Ertz was recently traded to the Cardinals and some fantasy experts are high on his outlook. However, against the Houston Texans, he could have a poor week. His role on the Cardinals offense is not clear yet and if a fantasy manager has another option at the position they should be started.
