Monday Night DFS: Week 1

MNF DFS

After a great slate of NFL games on Sunday it’s time to focus on the Monday Night Football game. The Las Vegas Raiders will be opening their season at home as they debut their new stadium. The Baltimore Ravens could not be happier to finally get the season started. They have already suffered multiple season-ending injuries. Now let’s jump right into the top players in this matchup.

DraftKings Captain & FanDuel MVP

Lamar Jackson (DK 18,600 | FD 17,000)

The Raiders defense is not very good and Jackson will likely have to do a lot more than normal in this game. With all of their injuries at running back, they will be forced to start a rookie. Jackson will likely run more as a result and we should get a big performance from the former MVP. Lock him in your lineups. He is in play at both the Captain and MVP slot whichever site you prefer. Pay up for Jackson and don’t look back.

Flex Plays

Darren Waller (DK 10,800 | FD 13,000)

The Raiders defense will struggle and undoubtedly give up a good chunk of points. If the Raiders are forced to play from behind, Waller will get peppered with targets. He is among the best if not the best receiving tight end in the NFL. He is easily Derek Carr’s No. 1 target. Add in a little revenge and Waller will rack up the fantasy points in this game.

Mark Andrews (DK 9,000 | FD 11,000)

Rookie wide receiver Rashod Bateman will not play for the first couple of weeks of the season. He was definitely a threat to Andrews’ red zone opportunities. Without him, Andrews will be the guy Jackson looks to in the red zone. Last season the Raiders defense was solid against tight ends in the red zone giving up only six touchdowns on the year. However, look for Andrews to find the end zone at least once tonight.

Henry Ruggs (DK 5,000 | FD 9,500)

Marcus Peters is one of several Balitmore players injured over the past two weeks. Without Peters, the secondary will certainly take a hit. Ruggs had a disappointing rookie season and will look to get his sophomore year off to a great start. He has the opportunity to be the No. 1 receiver after Nelson Agholor left in free agency. News out of camp was his route running improved. Look for Ruggs to display that in primetime.

Player Predictions

Jackson: 320 total yards and three touchdowns

Waller: 120 receiving yards

Andrews: 78 receiving yards and one touchdown

Ruggs: 89 total yards and one touchdown
