Nebraska vs Illinois: U/27 (1H)

There really is nothing to these games in terms of trends, so we are kind of just knocking off the rust with these games.

Illinois knocked off Nebraska 41-23 last season because of the Illini’s 285 yards on the ground, which has been a theme for the Scott Frost led Nebraska Cornhuskers. While that is concerning, especially with all the uncertainty around the Nebraska Football team, neither of these teams scare me on offense. There is no real firepower in this game, so we are going to feel out the first half, and then maybe look at the second half of the game in terms of more action.

Hawaii (+18) vs UCLA

UCLA is getting the majority of the money, but people forget that Hawaii had the 54th ranked defense in the country in points per game allowed.

They will return the majority of their key defense and will be going up against a UCLA team that is 1-4 in their last five opening games. Not only that, but UCLA allowed 40-plus in two games and had one of the worst defenses in the Pac-12.

While UCLA will probably win this game because they are more talented, Hawaii should put up a hell of a fight.

UConn vs Fresno State (-27.5)

I am not kidding when I say that UConn might lose by 40-plus, they are that bad.

Not only is UConn bad, but Fresno State has all the potential to make some noise in the Mountain West. They will be returning all their key offensive weapons in QB Jake Haener, RB Ronnie Rivers, and WR Jalen Cropper. With those dynamic playmakers and the fact that UConn has one of the worst defenses in football, Fresno should win this one easily.

Fresno State may be a team to ride the whole season, and this game will serve as the first official test for a very talented team.

That is all for this week. It would not be very smart to blow my bank on week zero. However, if there are any additional plays I will always post them on my Twitter.
