MLB DFS: Pitch Targets and Stacks for June 26

MLB DFS

Let’s go! It’s been a while since I’ve written a DFS article and handed out some of my favorite plays. Schedules change. Getting older sucks. But that won’t stop me today. I feel refreshed and ready to help someone break the slate. Let’s dive in.

You can find all of our DFS picks across several sports here.

Pitching Targets

Allow me to preface this by saying, a few pitchers I have interest in have serious weather concerns. Lance Lynn is scheduled to toe the rubber at home against the Seattle Mariners. Kenta Maeda is on the mound at home against the Cleveland Indians. The game in St. Louis between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cardinals also has weather concerns. With that said, I’ll be treading lightly with JT Brubaker, Adam Wainwright, Lynn, and Maeda. It’s also worth mentioning that Jacob deGrom is a great option. We don’t need to go into much more detail. Use him if you wish.

Hyun Jin Ryu ($8,200 DK, $8,500 FD)

Ryu has pitched six-plus innings in 66 percent of his starts since the beginning of May. He owns a 3.25 ERA with a solid 49.6 percent groundball rate. The strikeouts are down for him, but his 5.1 percent walk rate allows him to work deep into games. His last outing came against the same team he’ll face today, the Baltimore Orioles. In that start, he worked seven innings and allowed only one run.

Kyle Gibson ($6,500 DK, $7,600 FD)

Since joining the Texas Rangers, Gibson has been phenomenal. He’s been a quality start machine and owns a 5-0 record with a 2.17 ERA. Kansas City isn’t exactly a powerhouse offense. They rank 20th in wRC+. Although the Royals strikeout at only a 22 percent clip, I think Gibson is more than capable of turning in another quality start with a high chance at picking up a victory.

Other Options: deGrom, Alex Cobb, Logan Gilbert

Home Run Call – Kyle Schwarber ($4,600 DK, $3,500 FD)

Schwarber feels like a cheat code at this point. But with pitchers “cheating” with spider tack before the crackdown, why aren’t DFS players allowed to use some type of substance? The grown-up version of Bam Bam will be my substance today. Schwarber is on an absolute heater, with 13 home runs in his last 14 games! That’s not a typo. I’m going to keep riding the hot hand.

Stacks

Washington Nationals

Schwarber has been lighting it up, but the rest of the Nats’ hitters have been catching fire as well. They have a 119 wRC+ since June 12. A lot of that can be attributed to Schwarber, but they have some thump throughout the lineup. Juan Soto, Trea Turner, and Schwarber make for a solid mini stack.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds have a good Vegas implied team total and I think they may go overlooked somewhat. Ian Anderson’s 2.37 road ERA has yet to catch up to his 4.05 road xFIP. Nick Castellanos and Jesse Winker have been crushing all season. Jonathan India has caught fire and Joey Votto has returned. Eugenio Suarez homered yesterday, so he’s getting back on track a bit. Any of the 1-6 hitters are in play for me.

Other Options: Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers
