Reaction to the Heat’s Loss to the Nets

Miami Heat Heating Up

Make that back-to-back losses against the Brooklyn Nets. The Miami Heat came out strong defensively, holding the Nets to 41 points in the first half. Unfortunately, the Heat grew cold in the last six minutes of the game. They could not get anything going late and James Harden went off. The loss puts Miami’s record at 6-10 for the season.

Here are my three takeaways from Monday’s 98-85 loss to Brooklyn.

Bam continues to impress

The one positive about these last couple of games has been the growth of Bam Adebayo’s game. For the majority of the matchup, he looked like the best player on the floor. He even hit another buzzer-beating three to end the third quarter. A true evaluation of his offensive game will come when Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro return. It’s going to be interesting to see if he will continue to play with this aggression.

Bam finished the night with 26points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Duncan struggles

This was not a good shooting night from the Heat’s sharpshooter Duncan Robinson. He could not get anything going from beyond the arc and shot just one-for-10 from three-point range. A few of those shots were open but just not falling. With so many guys out, the Heat needed more.

Robinson finished with seven points, five rebounds, and two assists.

Help coming?

The Heat received good news prior to Monday’s game. The Five Reasons Sports Network reported that Miami expects to get some of their players back on Wednesday, including Jimmy Butler and Avery Bradley, who should clear COVID protocols soon. It will likely take some time for the team to gel once the roster is at full-strength.

The schedule gets tougher with the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Clippers coming up. It is going to be very important for Miami to get healthy soon.

Next up: Home against the Denver Nuggets (10-7) on Wednesday. Game tips at 7:30 p.m. EST.

NBA Playoffs 2024: Round 1 Awkward Moments

It must be weird facing your former team. It is, without a doubt, an awkward feeling when past teammates become your enemies. How would a player or coach deal with it? Does it add any more pressure? We can only guess, but we know that they will do anything to eliminate the team they used to play for.
