One Title Down, One to go for Derrick Henry

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry is officially the first back to back rushing champion in the NFL since San Deigo Chargers Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson did it in 2006 and 2007.

Henry, a 2020 Pro Bowl selection, leads the league in rushing after 15 games, with 1,777 yards. The Minnesota Vikings announced on Wednesday that Dalvin Cook won’t play in their season finale on Sunday, due to the unexpected death of his father.

Cook was the closest behind Henry, trailing by 220 yards, and was the only one who had any chance at catching Henry. Everyone else trails the Titans running back by more than 700 yards.

Henry and the Titans finish their regular season on the road in Houston on Sunday, to take on the Texans. With the AFC South crown still in play and being able to host at least one playoff game next week, still on the line.

Henry, meanwhile, is just 223 yards away from the rarely reached 2,000-yard plateau. The mark has only been reached by seven backs in NFL history. He would join Chris Johnson as the second player from the franchise to reach the coveted mark.
